Ben More Crainlarich is a route in “The Crianlarich” region / range which is located in the Loch Lomond to Loch Tay area of the Scottish Highlands as defined by the Scottish Mountaineering Club.

This is a circular route

A big ascent of two of the Southern Highlands giants

Ben More (big hill, 1174m) and Stob Binnein (either peak or anvil, 1165m) are two imposing munros which lie to the east of Crianlarich and are the most northern in the region.

This is the usual route of ascent starting from Benmore farm with a long unrelenting climb up the hills north western shoulder. There is no well defined route but higher up a drystone dyke is a useful guide.

Ascent: 1340m / 4397 feet
Time: 5 hours plus

There has been several avalanche accidents on Ben More and the route must be marked an avalanche black spot in winter;The hanging corrie which is found immediately below the summit facing north west is where the problem comes from and isn't marked on the map.
