Mountain Description for The Cairnwell
The Cairnwell is an munro in Scotand and is located in the area The West Mounth: Blair Atholl to Braemar as defined by SMC
(and lies in region known as Glen Shee )
The Cairnwell is usually climbed from the Glen Shee ski centre, which is at a height of 650 m, making this probably one of the easiest of the 284 Munros to bagg. It is often climbed with Munros Carn Aosda.
The eastern slopes which tower above the road are littered with ski equipment and are a bit of an eyesore. Also the top is not very pretty, having a small hut on top of the cairn and there being buildings plus a large aerial as well.
This mountain however is a ideal introduction to bagging munros and still boasts glorious views of the area on a clear day.
