The pale grey quartzite screes which covers the higher tops earn them the name The Grey Corries.
Stob Coire an Laoigh has a trianglar looking summit with scree slopes and bolders.
Stob Coire an Laoigh is positioned in the centre of the Grey Corries Ridge and has 3 ridges connecting.
The north west ridge joins Stob Coire Easain (1080 metre), and to the north lies easy slopes lead down over Beinn na Socaich (1007 metres) dropping towards Coire Choimlidh which feeds the River Spean and the Caledonian Canal.
The north east ridge links to Caisteal (1106 metres) and the south eastern ridge drops into Glen Nevis via Alt Coire Easain.
