A'Ghlas-bheinn is munro number Two Hundred and Seventy-Five
Mountain Description for A'Ghlas-bheinn
A Ghlas Bheinn is a small insignificant munro at the head of Strath Croe and seeems quite dwarfed by neighbouring Beinn Fhada on the south. It is however a munro with character as it is craggy in all directions. A'Ghlas-bheinn used to be notorious for having several false summit points on the ascent from "Bealach an Sgairne". Now, however, a path has been formed making navigation easier in difficult conditions.
Access is usually via the south eastern knobbly ridge from Bealach an Sgairne passing to the east of Loch a' Chleirich. There are good paths upto the "Bealach an Sgairne".
If climbing A'Ghlas-bheinn a visit to the Falls of Glomach (Glomach means gloomy) is recommended which are the highest falls in the country at 113 m (370 ft). Beinn Fhada on the south is usually climbed on the same outing.
